Parts designed for the process that will make them: 3D printing today, or injection molding, rotational molding, thermoforming or profile extrusion when you scale. You approve every revision, and the files are yours at the end.

Design for the process

A plastic part is only as good as the process it was designed for.

The same bracket is a different part when it is printed, molded, thermoformed or extruded: different walls, draft, radii, tolerances and cost. Designing for the wrong one is how a part that worked as a print fails as a mold. Each design here starts with the question "how will this be made, and at what quantity," and the geometry follows.

3D printing

FDM or SLA. Orientation, supports, wall and infill choices, tolerances that printers actually hold. Right for one-offs, fixtures, enclosures and short runs.

Injection molding

Draft, uniform walls, radii, parting line, gate location, ejection. Designed so the printed prototype mold and the production tool see the same part.

Roto, thermoforming, extrusion

Rotational molding for hollow parts, thermoforming for large thin shells, profile extrusion for constant cross-sections. Each has rules; I have designed for all three.

  • PDF drawing with the dimensions and tolerances that matter, when a drawing is useful.
  • A short design note: what was decided, why, and what to watch when it is made.
  • A printed check part when the geometry deserves one, priced as a prototype.

  2. Scope and quoteA fixed design fee for the first release, a per-revision fee after that, written down before any work starts.

  4. Detail designFull CAD for the chosen process, with a review round. Fit, function and manufacturability checked; a printed check part if it helps.
  5. ReleaseFiles delivered, design note included. Revisions after release are quoted per round.

Design questions.

I only have a rough idea. Is that enough?

Yes. Most jobs start with a sketch, a photo of the problem, or a broken part. The brief step turns that into a spec you agree with before design starts.

How are revisions handled?

The design fee covers concept, detail design and one review round. After that, each revision round is a fixed fee quoted up front, so changes are priced, not argued.

Which CAD system?

You get native files plus STEP, which opens in every CAD system. Say which system you use and the native files match it where possible.

Can you also make the part?

Yes. Design jobs often continue into printed prototypes or a prototype mold. Or take the files anywhere; they are yours.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. A mutual NDA before you share details is fine; send yours or ask for a simple one.
